Housing Market of
San Bernardino County

The San Bernardino County housing market is one that is booming. With the moderate climate that this county has to offer, with winter temperatures ranging between thirty and sixty degrees and summer temperatures averaging in the nineties, this is a wonderful environment to live in.

Residents of this beautiful county can also enjoy a number of activities such as shopping, concerts, museums, skiing, hiking, and golfing.

With the number of educational institutes nearby, this is a great place to live for those with families that still have children in school. There are a number of elementary and high schools as well as ten universities and colleges. It's no wonder more and more people are seeking to have a home in wonderful San Bernardino County.

For those wishing to make the move to San Bernardino County or are looking to relocate within the beautiful city, there are a number of housing options including condominiums, townhouses and single-family residences. Prices vary but are generally around $170,000.

Recent real estate market data shows that there are a total of approximately 300,000 housing units in San Bernardino County. Of those, 57-percent of those are owner-occupied while 31-percent are rental units. The average rental price is approximately $800.

The San Bernardino housing market is a growing one compared to the rest of California. Throughout the rest of the state, housing prices are higher by approximately $130,000. Rental prices are also higher by about $100 and the number of owner-occupied houses are also higher by approximately 5-percent.

While these numbers were reduced slightly in July 2007 compared to a month before, there is currently no need for the real estate industry to start worrying about a downturn in the market.

The numbers have been so slight that it's barely worth mentioning at all and the market is said to see an improvement in the months to come. It's not difficult to see why more and more people are looking to live in the area and this means only good news for the San Bernardino County housing market.
